What Is the DreamEasy DreamFlat Background System?

The DreamEasy DreamFlat is a professional, modular backdrop system designed for photographers who want flexibility, portability, and a polished studio look without permanent walls. Each DreamFlat is a sturdy, lightweight frame that holds a double-sided silicone edge fabric backdrop, allowing you to easily swap designs in seconds.

DreamFlat frames are sold as complete, easy-to-assemble systems that include the frame(s) only—everything you need to build your base. Our Silicone Edge backdrops are sold separately, giving you the freedom to mix and match designs, switch up your look, and transform your studio in minutes. Create endless combinations and keep your sessions fresh, effortless, and inspiring all year long.

How Can You Use It?

Use One Solo
Perfect for small spaces, travel sessions, or simple setups. Set up a single DreamFlat panel with your favorite backdrop for a quick and clean background.

Use Two to Create a Corner
Place two DreamFlats at a right angle to create a dimensional corner—great for adding depth, variety, and a more immersive scene to your photos.

Combine to Build a Wall
Use the 180° connectors to link multiple DreamFlats together to form a seamless flat wall.

Available combinations include:

  • 2x 4' panels = 8' wall
  • 2x 5' panels = 10' wall
  • 3x 4' panels = 12' wall
  • 4x 5' or 5x 4' panels = 20' wall

You can mix and match sizes or designs, and even swap sides mid-session since each frame holds two designs!

Use the 3' DreamFlat for Small or Layered Setups

The 3' DreamFlat is an adjustable frame that works with both 3x7.5' and 3x6' DreamEasy Silicone Edge Backdrops. Remove the center bars to instantly shorten the frame for tighter spaces, seated poses, or layered studio builds.

Rotate Your Frames for More Flexibility

The DreamFlat frames can be used vertically or horizontally, giving you even more layout options depending on your backdrop orientation or scene setup.

Build a Room
For a fully immersive studio setup, use DreamFlats on multiple sides to create an entire room or wraparound environment. Add floors, props, or even “windows” for an ultra-realistic scene.

Why Photographers Love It:

  • Quick setup and takedown
  • Easy backdrop swaps
  • Clean, professional edges
  • Great for studio, on-location, or seasonal mini sessions
  • Takes up minimal space when stored
  • Gives depth and dimension never before seen in the Background Industry!

How to Assemble a DreamEasy DreamFlat Frame

Assembly Instructions

Assembly Instructions

DreamEasy DreamFlat Frames are designed for quick and hassle-free assembly—no tools required!

Step 1: Remove the DreamEasy DreamFlat frame sections, support pole, and two feet from the carrying case. Lay out all the pieces.

Note: Remove the small L-shaped cardboard protectors from the corners of the frame sections. These prevent damage during shipping and can be discarded. Also, remove the yellow protective tubes from the pegs on each foot.

Step 2: Locate the frame section labeled “BOTTOM” and unfold it, making sure the grey PVC ends are facing upward.

Step 3: Align the feet so that the pegs face outward and the holes face inward toward the center of the frame. Place the bottom frame section over the feet, align the holes, and press down firmly to secure.

Note: Make sure the spherical protrusion on the bottom of the frame fits into the hole on the foot to keep it positioned perpendicular to the frame.

Step 4: Find the frame section labeled "TOP" and unfold it, positioning it with the grey PVC ends facing downwards.

Step 5: Connect the top and bottom frame sections by inserting the grey plastic end connectors of the top section into those of the bottom section.

Step 6: Insert the center support pole into place for added stability.

Step 7: Your DreamEasy Silicone Edge Backdrop comes with a thin silicone strip sewn along its edge. To install, gently insert the silicone edge into the recessed groove around the inside of the frame, ensuring it fits securely and smoothly.

Step 1: Locate the small white tab on one of the short ends of the backdrop. This is the bottom of the backdrop.

Step 2: Starting with the corners, install the Silicone Edge Backdrop by inserting the silicone beading into the channels on the DreamFlat Frame.

Assembly Instructions

Assembly Instructions

The DreamEasy DreamSweep expands your DreamEasy DreamFlat setup into a seamless, floor-to-wall sweep — no tools required!

Follow these steps to assemble and attach your DreamSweep to two connected DreamFlats.

Step 1: Assemble the DreamFlats.
Assemble two DreamEasy DreamFlat frames following the standard instructions. Use the 180-degree straight connector to connect the two frames side-by-side, creating one continuous wall.
For an 8 × 14 ft DreamSweep, use two 4 × 7.5 ft DreamFlat frames.
For a 10 × 16 ft DreamSweep, use two 5 × 7.5 ft DreamFlat frames.

Step 2: Unpack the DreamSweep Components (Figure 1).
Remove all DreamSweep parts from the carrying case and lay them out.
You should have:
• 2 bars with corner PVC connectors and receiving ends
• 2 bars with corner PVC connectors and insert ends
• 3 short bars with insert and receiving ends
• 1 short bar with insert and receiving ends (for back wall)
• 1 long bar with insert and receiving ends
• 1 long bar with insert and receiving ends (for back wall)
• 1 long bar with dual receiving ends
• 1 long bar with dual receiving ends (for back wall)
• 2 corner brackets (left and right)
• 14 hand tighten screws

Step 3: Assemble the Frame Base (Figure 2).
Locate the three bars that do not have a channel:
• 1 short bar with insert and receiving ends
• 1 long bar with insert and receiving ends
• 1 long bar with dual receiving ends
Connect these three bars together to form the central base section. Use the hand-tighten screws to secure each bar connection.

Step 4: Connect the Corners and Side Sections (Figure 3).
• On the right side, connect: corner (insert) → short insert/receiving → corner (receiving).
• On the left side, connect: corner (receiving) → short insert/receiving → corner (insert).
• Along the front edge, connect: long insert/receiving → short insert/receiving → long dual-receiving.
Ensure all joints are fully seated and hand-tightened.

Step 5: Attach to the DreamFlat Wall (Figure 4).
Position the completed DreamSweep ground frame at the base of your connected DreamFlats. Use the left and right brackets to secure the DreamSweep frame to the back DreamFlat assembly, creating a stable sweep structure.

Step 6: Install the Silicone Edge Backdrop (Figure 5).
Starting from the top of the wall, insert the silicone edge of your backdrop into the recessed groove of the DreamFlat frame. Continue downward, pressing the silicone edge into the channel along the DreamSweep frame until it fits smoothly and securely.
