About Candid Couture

Some families have siblings that all seem to gravitate towards a talent.  Mine was blessed with an artist’s eye.  We each took a slightly different direction with our love of art and my path lead me towards graphic design.  It was ten years into my design position before I picked up my first digital camera {a Canon Rebel XT} with intentions of it being no more than a hobby.  Only a few months after I got my camera I was asked to take photos at a wedding and my quick response was “No”, my friend didn’t give up too easily and after multiple requests throughout the evening, I agreed… reluctantly.  The following morning I woke up with a panic attack. You see, I’m a perfectionist and I could barely use my camera, let alone take photos for someone on one of the biggest days of their life.  But before I let my fears win, I asked a family member getting married if I could come take some candids at their upcoming I Do's.  That was all it took, one wedding and I was bitten by the shutter bug.

Fast forward to today and some major things have changed. I am now a mother, a wife and owner of A Candid Moment Photography.  However, many things have remained the same… a deep passion for the lenses and artistic senses.  When the opportunity came to combine my love of photography with design, I was thrilled to be offered design work thru a few companies whose product I admire.  But my heart drew me to Baby Dream Backdrops because the moment I was introduced to their backdrops it was like that very first wedding, I was hooked.  My approach to design is simple… if I would use it in my own studio, then it’s perfect to add to the Candid Couture line.
